Outside Japan, Reiki is traditionally taught in three
levels. However, where comprehensive training is being given, it
is common for the third level to be further subdivided. In the Reiki
Network, the third level is split into three stages: Reiki 3A, Reiki
Master and Reiki Master Teacher.
Each Reiki level is complete in itself: it is not
necessary to continue with further levels or repeat seminars unless
one decides to explore Reiki more deeply.
Reiki 1
Reiki 1 is the basic level of the Reiki seminars.
Here the substantial happens: Reiki is activated in the
hands, for life, by 4 Reiki attunements carried out by a
Reiki Master. After completing the course, the participant
can treat himself and others with Reiki.
The seminar consists of a practical part, where Reiki is
activated, and we learn how to treat ourselves and others
with Reiki, and a theoretical part, in which we learn and
discuss other things such as how Reiki came to the west,
what characteristics Reiki has, how Reiki works, what Reiki
is not. However, the focus is on exploring the practical
applications of this universal energy. From the first day
of the Reiki seminar, the participant is able to give himself
Reiki.
No special previous knowledge or abilities are required:
anyone can get Reiki and use it. Seminars for children are
also offered. The recommended age to participate in a children's
seminar is between 6 and 12 years. Teenager seminars can
also be arranged on request.
Reiki 2
At least 2 to 4 months after Reiki 1, to allow
time to get used to Reiki, it is possible to take the second
level course. In the Reiki 2 seminar you learn the Reiki
remote treatment, i.e. a method for sending Reiki from a
distance, over time and space.
Additionally you learn further techniques which will give
you the ability to work with Reiki in your daily life. These
techniques can also help your personal growth. For example,
Reiki 2 can assist with fundamental questions such as "who
am I?" and "what do I want?".
Reiki 3A
At least 6 months after the Reiki 2 seminar, and being well practised in all Reiki techniques you may explore the Reiki 3A level.
The instruction takes
3 days and promotes a profound personal growth.
Reiki 3A is primarily for your personal growth; it is not
for teaching. There are some, who would like to use Master
level techniques for their own benefit, without wanting
to give any Reiki seminars or lectures. Even though they
do not teach, they have the task and responsibility of an
ambassador of Reiki at this level.
In The Reiki Network, anyone interested in taking the 3A
seminar is interviewed, so that the teacher can understand
the motives of the applicant and check that he or she is
ready for this significant step. An acceptance to the 3A
seminar means that the applicant is also accepted for Reiki
Master training, should he or she wish to continue to that
level.
Reiki Master
This is the decision to teach and contribute
to the further spreading of Reiki. With The Reiki Network,
it requires at least one year of training, to attain the ability to teach seminars in accordance
with The Reiki Network standards. A Reiki Master is qualified
to teach Reiki 1 and Reiki 2 seminars.
The decision to become a Reiki Master is a significant
one, representing a commitment of much time and energy.
From this investment, you learn how to pass Reiki on to
others, in a professional and effective way. However,
as with all the levels of Reiki, an equally important benefit
is the personal growth which comes during the process.
Reiki Master Teacher
After at least 2 years of actively teaching Reiki
1 and Reiki 2 seminars, there is the possibility to become
a Reiki Master Teacher, able to teach and initiate all
Reiki levels, including Reiki Masters and Reiki Master
Teachers.
